State Flag Plaque

Contacts Start Date: You may use contacts from 1/1/2005.

Contact Type: Members or nonmembers. Mixed band contacts are allowed.

OMISS Nets: Contacts must be made on OMISS Nets.

Enhancements: Single Band; 5, 6, 7, and 8 Band; QRP; Mobile, 50 states.

Certificate numbers: For the award (48 states contacted), the next available certificate number is assigned. When an enhancement is earned, certificates will be issued with the same # and the enhancement listed on it. Each individual state certificate (see note below) will be numbered sequentially as they are issued.

Details:
Contact 5 different amateurs in each of the 48 continental US States.

Contacts with the same mobile station are eligible, but only if the contracts are in different states.

Contacts with club stations are eligible, but only either the club station call or the operator’s call will be allowed. You cannot count both calls toward the awards if they are used during the same contact.

When 5 contacts are made in a single State, send log information for a state certificate. Each individual state certificate is not an award or enhancement and cannot be used toward any other award. They are steps while earning this award.

State certificates for Alaska and Hawaii may be applied for but are not required for this award series. Only one enhancement plate for 50 states (not for 50 states in each category) will be awarded.

When you have earned this award by earning all 48 state certificates you get one plaque at no cost to member. To give you the opportunity to add enhancements, a multi-plate plaque (option B) is available.

Plaque B will have 18 places for enhancements. As you earn another category, you will receive an engraved plate with that category on it to put on the plaque. If earn you will receive only one enhancement plate for 50 states (not for 50 states in each category). Each plate will be engraved with the enhancement and date. Example 40 meters 11/11/2025.

If you don’t plan to work for enhancement, you may choose to get plaque A. It is a single plate plaque. Note: if you later decide to add enhancements, you will change to plaque B to receive the endorsement; you pay for that plaque. The price for that plaque will be based on the cost at the time of purchase.

OMISS will pay for ONLY ONE plaque with this one exception. If you received a plaque before 3/9/2025 you can receive plaque B at no cost -once you earn an endorsement. It will be engraved with original date the award was earned and have the plate for the newly earned enhancement.

Any other variance to the above plaque options will be at the member expense and must be approved by the Awards Committee. The price for that plaque will be based on the cost at the time of purchase.

Documentation to Submit: Logs should be sorted by state. QSL cards are not required.
