Esprite de Military

Awards are for Squads (12 contacts), Platoons (36 contacts), Companies (108 contacts), Battalions (324 contacts), and Brigades (972 contacts).

Work 12 OMISS Members who have served, or are now serving, in the Military of the United States of America. To clarify the term "MILITARY", OMISS will use the following SIX services: USAF, USSF, USMC, USA, USN and USCG, along with their respective reserve and national guard components. Civilian and volunteer auxiliaries do not qualify as military. All contacts must be made on net frequencies during net times. Mixed band contacts are authorized. Single band endorsements are available at all levels. Only contacts made after November 2001 may be used for these awards. Members may be used only once per band!

The First Squad Certificate will be issued for the first 12 contacts on each band.

Squad certificates will be issued for squads 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 20, 22, 23, 25, 26, 28, 29, 31, 32, 34, and 35.

Platoon certificates will be issued for squads 3, 6, 12,15, 21, 24, 30, and 33. For single band endorsements, all squads must be in the same band.

Company certificates will be issued for squads 9, 18, 36 and each 108th contact thereafter. For single band endorsements, all platoons must be in the same band.

A Battalion certificate and optional desk plate will be issued for the first 324 contacts. Certificate only for each subsequent 324 contacts. For single band endorsements, all companies must be in the same band.

The Brigade Certificate is available for 972 contacts. For single band endorsements, all Battalions must be in the same band.

For members who want a significant challenge, three Brigades make a Regiment (2916 unique contacts).

Log information must be submitted for the entire list of contacts on each band.

When making an application, make it very clear how many certificates you want. It is not necessary to have all the squad certificates for a higher award.
